The “King of the Bavarian Forest“ offers an attractive network of hiking trails with breath-taking views all over the Bavarian and Bohemian Forest.

The treeless mountain top with its four peaks is characterized by subalpine calcareous grasslands, rocky grounds and mountain pines, a landscape that cannot be found anywhere else in the Bavarian Forest. Below the peaks, surrounded by a nature reserve, you find Great Arber Lake (“Großer Arbersee“) and the Small Arber Lake (“Kleiner Arbersee”), which are also popular hiking destinations.

Mount Großer Arber is the largest and most popular skiing resort of the Bavarian Forest.
