Gläserne Scheune

Bild der Gläsernen Scheune und der Kuppel

The “Gläserne Scheune“ is an ancient barn which glass painter Rudolf Schmid and his family transformed into an overall work of art unique worldwide: monumental glass walls (more than 200 sqm) painted with stories and legends of the Bavarian Forest (such as the legend of the Bavarian prophet ”Mühlhiasl“ and the story of the ”Robber Heigl“), a13 sqm big wooden barn door carved with ”Rauhnacht“ (wild night) scenes, and meticulously crafted works of glass art. You will be welcomed by the “Rauhbühler Riese“ (giant of Rauhbühl), whose monumental head mischievously looks down from its tower.
